Terms of Service
Last updated: 31 October 2026
These terms apply when you use the timeX website, the timeX mobile apps, or any timeX delivery service (together, the "Services"). This includes customers who order, delivery riders, and restaurants, supermarkets and vendors who sell through timeX ("Partners"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Who we are
timeX operates a delivery platform in Addis Ababa and Adama, Ethiopia. It connects customers with local businesses and independent delivery riders. You can reach us at partners@timex.et.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, or have permission from a parent or guardian.
- Give accurate information, including a phone number you control, and keep it up to date.
- Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else is using it.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, gives false information, or puts other users at risk.
3. Ordering (customers)
- Orders are placed with the restaurant, supermarket or vendor you choose. timeX arranges the delivery.
- Prices, delivery fees and estimated times are shown before you confirm an order. Estimated times are not guaranteed.
- Be available at the address and phone number you give. If a rider cannot reach you, the order may be cancelled and fees may still apply.
- For a missing, wrong or damaged item, contact us through the app within 24 hours of delivery so we can review it.
4. Payments
Payments are made through the methods offered in the app, which may include cash on delivery and mobile money. Third-party payment providers have their own terms. Refunds, when approved, go back to the original payment method where possible.
5. Riders
- Riders are independent partners, not employees of timeX, unless a separate written agreement says otherwise.
- Riders must hold a valid licence and any permits required to ride in their city, follow traffic laws, and wear a helmet.
- Riders choose when they are available. Earnings are calculated as shown in the rider app and paid on the schedule shown there.
- Electric-motorbike support is offered to eligible riders, depends on availability, and is covered by a separate agreement. Registering interest does not guarantee a bike.
6. Business partners
- Restaurants, supermarkets and vendors are responsible for their products, prices, descriptions, food safety, and any licences their business needs.
- Commission, fees and payout terms are set out in each Partner's agreement with timeX.
- Partners must prepare orders accurately and on time, and tell customers about allergens or age-restricted items where the law requires it.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Services for anything illegal, including ordering or delivering prohibited goods;
- harass, threaten or discriminate against riders, customers, Partners or our staff;
- place fake orders, misuse promotions, or interfere with how the apps work;
- copy, resell or reverse-engineer the apps or the website.
8. Our content
The timeX name, logo, apps and website belong to timeX. You may use the apps for their intended purpose only. Content you submit, such as reviews or business listings, stays yours, but you allow timeX to display it in the Services.
9. Liability
We work to keep the Services available and accurate, but we provide them "as is". To the extent allowed by Ethiopian law, timeX is not responsible for indirect losses, or for losses caused by Partners, riders or events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ethiopian consumer-protection law.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms as the Services change. When we make important changes, we will tell you in the app or by SMS before they take effect. You can stop using the Services and ask us to delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy).
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Disputes will first be handled through our support team, and if they are not resolved, by the competent courts in Addis Ababa.
